The establishment of our college goes back to 1999 E.C when three departments are admitting small number of under graduate of students. Our university is located in a pristine location surrounded by natural beauty. Forests, lakes and streams are all around us. The natural beauty of Bench-Sheko Zone is a wonderful backdrop for our university education. That is why the motto of our university is “The Light of Green Valley”.

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences fosters critical thinking, creative expression and intellectual curiosity. In classrooms, GIS laboratories, HDP training and ELIC center students are prepared for a variety of careers and they are equipped to prosper in an unpredictable future.
